A further story of the lords of the Black Boar, the sixth
in the saga, this tells of Westerfalca’s bid to overcome
the power of his hereditary enemy, the Wolf.
There is Gisella, Westerfalca’s bride-to-be; and her
cousin Estrildis who has inherited the power of her
grandfather, Vortigern, and his evil and incestuous line.
There is Siobhan, a slave, who has borne Westerfalca a
half-sister. There is Rolf the Gauntlet whose leather-
encased arm provokes mystery and glamour—-what is
his secret? Over all looms the shadow of the Wolf.
There are some readers to whom the pagan creed of
the Black Boar may be unacceptable. Some do not
believe in the conflicting powers of Light and Darkness,
of Go(o)d and (D)evil, of Boar and Wolf, and cannot
equate all three.
To such readers one says: read the book if you will.
With an open mind? Of course. Who would dare
suggest otherwise? Should this by your first acquain-
tance with the saga, it is certain it will not be your last.
